LADIES GOLF AT BINGLEY ST IVES

The Ladies Section is thriving, friendly and inclusive with over 60 members. We welcome players with all levels of interest and experience, from those new to golf to scratch golfers, those who wish to play competitively and those who are simply looking for social golf. We encourage all ladies to play with different members each week, helping us to get to know each other and building and maintaining our friendly and welcoming Section. 

In addition to golf competitions, we also run social events allowing you to make the most of your membership, whether you’re looking to meet new people, support our annual charities, or simply to improve your golfing knowledge. Examples include:

• New Rules Presentation and Quiz Evening
• The Foster Cup Mixed Golf Challenge with Barbeque
• Ladies v Rabbits Golf Challenge with Supper afterwards
• Mind Your Golf Presentation

We are always looking to welcome new members and grow our Ladies Section. The Club offers a range of different memberships, details of which can be found in the Membership area of this website. Please contact the Lady Captain or any other member of the Committee (see below) if you want to know more. New members are always made to feel welcome and we will support you as you settle in and become part of our Ladies Section.  Full details of Ladies Competitions, matches, members and Committee members are displayed on our notice board in the ladies locker room and in the online diary.  Details of the Ladies Sunday Competitions are set out below.

LADIES NEWS – WOMEN IN GOLF CHARTER

Bingley St Ives Golf Club has been accepted as a registered signatory to the Women in Golf Charter promoted by the R&A and England Golf.  To gain this recognition the Club formulated and set out a number of Charter commitments to ensure the Club makes a positive contribution to a change in golf where we create a more inclusive culture and encourage more women and girls not just to take part but also to thrive in the game. The Club has a appointed  Charter Champion, Lisa Foster to be the face of our campaign. LADIES COMPETITIONS

Uniquely, our ladies’ competitions are held on a Sunday, allowing easier access for those who work or are in full time education. Prizes are awarded within each Handicap Division, with a trophy awarded to the overall winner in the more presitigious events. In addition to our Sunday competitions, many of our ladies take up the opportunities during the week to play competitive and social golf too. 

Whilst many of our members simply enjoy our weekly competitions, charity events and social golf, we also run a number of teams within the Bradford and the Yorkshire Ladies Counties Golf Association (YLCGA) inter-club competitions catering for players of different handicaps. This year our teams include:

• Scratch team 
• A Team 
• B Team 
• Bradford Evening League Team 
• Bradford Evening League Foursomes 
• Weekend League Team (or Alternative Day Player Team) 
• Bradford Winter Foursomes Team 

We also support and encourage those wishing to play at County or National level, either in Yorkshire Ladies events (http://www.ylcga.org.uk), the Yorkshire Veterans Ladies events (http://www.yvlga.org.uk) or regional and national competitions (see https://www.englandgolf.org)
